Clinical Pharmacology

Antispasmodic, analgesic.

Pharmacokinetics: Andipal is composed of metamizole sodium (250 mg), bendazole (20 mg), papaverine hydrochloride (20 mg) and phenobarbital (20 mg). Each of the components of Andipal has a certain effect on the body. Metamizole sodium - has analgesic and anti-inflammatory effect. Well and easily absorbed, quite quickly comes the effect of its use. Bendazole or Dibazol - is able to dilate blood vessels, relieve spasms and lower blood pressure. In addition, the drug has a stimulating effect on the function of the spinal cord. Dibazol is an immunostimulating drug. The main application - spasms in the organs of the gastrointestinal tract and blood vessels, the treatment of certain diseases of the nervous system. Papaverine hydrochloride - relieves spasm of internal organs, as well as blood vessels. Large doses of the drug may reduce the excitability of the heart muscle and slow intracardiac conduction. Phenobarbital - has a soporific effect. Also applies to antiepileptic drugs. In small doses, it has a sedative effect, in combination with antispasmodics and analgesics, it is used to treat smooth muscle spasms of the internal organs.

Dosage and Administration

For oral use. Adults - 1-2 pills. 2-3 times a day. The course of treatment is 7-10 days.

If treatment is ineffective, the drug should be replaced or combined with other drugs (to achieve the hypotensive effect).

Adverse reactions

Sometimes nausea, constipation, allergic reactions (up to anaphylactic shock) occur. With prolonged use of the drug may inhibit the effect on the blood due to the presence of dipyrone (leukopenia, rarely - agranulocytosis, thrombocytopenia). Phenobarbital, present in the composition of the drug, may have a sedative effect, sometimes ataxia and depression may occur (especially in elderly and debilitated patients).

Pharmacokinetic: the combined use of Activated charcoal, astringents and coating agents reduces the absorption of the drug in the gastrointestinal tract.

Special instructions

According to the instructions, Andipal should not be taken with alcohol, since the drug can enhance the effect of ethyl alcohol. The use of Andipal in combination with drugs that suppress the nervous system, can enhance their action.

Overdosage

Symptoms: in case of overdose, severe drowsiness, dizziness, collapse state occurs.
