Clinical Pharmacology

The drug Cytovir-3 is a means of etiotropic and immunostimulating therapy, has an indirect antiviral effect against influenza A and B viruses and other viruses that cause acute respiratory viral diseases.
Bendazole induces endogenous interferon production in the body, has moderate immunostimulating activity, which is associated with regulation of the ratio of cGMP and cAMP concentrations in immune cells (increases cGMP content), which leads to the proliferation of mature sensitized T and B lymphocytes, their secretion of mutual regulation factors, cooperative reaction and activation of the final effector function of cells. Enzymes, the production of which is induced by interferons in cells of various organs, inhibit the replication of viruses.
Alpha-glutamyl-tryptophan (timogen) is a synergist of the immunomodulating action of bendazole, normalizing the T-cell immunity. Ascorbic acid normalizes capillary permeability, inhibits the formation of Pg and other inflammatory mediators, thereby reducing inflammation, and exhibits antioxidant properties, neutralizing oxygen radicals accompanying the inflammatory process, increases the body's resistance to infection.

Indications

Prevention and complex therapy of influenza and acute respiratory viral infections in children from one year.

Composition

1 ml of the finished solution:
- timogen (α-glutamyl-tryptophan in the form of sodium salt) 150 mcg
- Bendazole 1.25 mg
- ascorbic acid 12 mg
Excipients: fructose.

Dosage and Administration

Treatment and prophylactic regimens are identical.
Inside for 30 minutes before eating.
For children aged 1 to 3 years, take 2 ml of solution 3 times a day;
for children aged 3 to 6 years - 4 ml 3 times a day;
for children aged 6 to 10 years - 8 ml 3 times a day;
for children over the age of 10, 12 ml 3 times a day.
Application course - 4 days. If necessary, the prophylactic course is repeated after 3-4 weeks.

Adverse reactions

Short-term decrease in blood pressure.
Allergic reactions are possible: urticaria. In these cases, the use of the drug is stopped and a symptomatic treatment is prescribed, antihistamines.

Contraindications

- diabetes;
- pregnancy;
- children's age up to 1 year;
- hypersensitivity to the components of the drug Cytovir-3.
With caution: during breastfeeding, use is possible if the intended benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the baby.

Drug interactions

Interaction of alpha-glutamyl-tryptophan with drugs was not detected.
Bendazole - prevents the increase in OPSS, due to non-selective beta-blockers. Strengthens the hypotensive effect of hypotensive and diuretic drugs. Phentolamine enhances the hypotensive effect of bendazole.
Ascorbic acid - increases the concentration in the blood of benzylienicillin and tetracyclines. Improves the intestinal absorption of drugs Fe. Reduces the effectiveness of heparin and indirect anticoagulants. Acetylsalicylic acid (ASA), oral contraceptives, fresh juices, and alkaline drinks reduce its absorption and absorption. With simultaneous use with ASA increases the excretion of urine ascorbic acid and decreases the excretion of ASA. ASA reduces the absorption of ascorbic acid by about 30%.
Ascorbic acid increases the risk of crystalluria in the treatment of short-acting salicylates and sulfonamides, slows kidney excretion of acids, increases the excretion of drugs with alkaline reactions (including alkaloids), reduces the concentration of oral contraceptives in the blood.
With simultaneous use reduces the chronotropic effect of isoprenaline.
Reduces the therapeutic effect of antipsychotic drugs (neuroleptics) - phenothiazine derivatives, tubular reabsorption of amphetamine and tricyclic antidressants. Barbiturates and primidone increase the excretion of ascorbic acid in the urine.

Pregnancy and Lactation

Cytovir-3 is contraindicated during pregnancy. During breastfeeding, use is possible if the intended benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the baby.

Special instructions

With repeated courses, periodic monitoring of blood glucose concentration is recommended.
