Clinical Pharmacology
Gastrofarm - a drug that has a protective effect on the mucous membrane of the stomach and intestines.
The action of the Gastrofarm drug is provided by the presence of Lactobacillus bulgaris and biologically active products of their vital activity (lactic and malic acid, nucleic acids, a number of alpha-amino acids, polypeptides and polysaccharides), as well as a high protein content (25-30%), which have a gastroprotective effect.
Gastrofarm stimulates the regeneration processes in the mucous membrane of the gastrointestinal tract, normalizes the function of the stomach and intestines, regulates the balance of the intestinal microflora.
Indications
Treatment of the following conditions and diseases:
- acute and chronic gastritis;
- increased acidity of gastric juice;
- peptic ulcer and duodenal ulcer in children from 3 years of age and adults.
As a prophylactic:
- during and after treatment with drugs irritating the gastrointestinal tract;
- when using food that causes an increase in gastric acidity;
- after alcohol and tobacco abuse.
Composition
1 tablet contains:
Active substance: substance consisting of dried viable cells Lactobacillus delbrueckii subsp. bulgaricus strain 51 (LB-51) - at least 1 · 102 (number of live lactobacilli) 1.575 g;
Excipients: sucrose - not more than 0.9 g; magnesium stearate - 0.025 g

Dosage and Administration
For oral use 30 minutes before meals, chewing with a small amount of water or pre-grinding and mixing with a small amount of boiled water at room temperature.
As a remedy: in the treatment of acute and chronic gastritis and increased acidity of gastric juicefor adults- 1-2 pills,children from 3 to 12 years - 1/2 tabletfrom 12 to 18 years - 1 tablet 3 times a day for 30 days.
With acute gastritis and insufficient effect of the daily dose can be increased by 2 times.
The effect of treatment usually comes to the end of the first week.
In the treatment of gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer for adults - 3-4 pills 3 times a day for 30 days.
As a prophylactic agent: 1-2 pills 3 times a day for 15 days, in cases of alcohol or tobacco abuse, 1-2 pills 2-3 times a day.
