Clinical Pharmacology
Kashnol - a combined drug that has a bronchodilator, expectorant, mucolytic action.
Indications
Acute and chronic broncho-pulmonary diseases, accompanied by difficulty in sputum discharge:
- bronchial asthma;
- tracheobronchitis;
- obstructive bronchitis;
- pneumonia;
- emphysema;
- pneumoconiosis, etc.
Composition
5 ml:
- Bromhexine hydrochloride 2 mg
- guaifenesin 50 mg
- salbutamol (in the form of sulfate) 1 mg
- menthol racemic 500 mcg

Dosage and Administration
Kashnol® drug is prescribed for adults and children over 12 years old in a dose of 10 ml (2 teaspoons) 3 times / day.
Children from 6 to 12 years old - 5-10 ml (1-2 teaspoons) 3 times / day; children from 3 to 6 years old - 5 ml each (1 teaspoon) 3 times / day.
Between the use of regular doses of the drug requires a break of at least 6 hours.
Adverse reactions
Sometimes: headache, dizziness, increased nervous irritability, sleep disturbance, drowsiness, tremor, convulsions, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, exacerbation of gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer, rapid heartbeat; possible staining of urine in pink, allergic reactions (rash, urticaria), lowering blood pressure, collapse.
Contraindications
- hypersensitivity to the components of the drug Kashnol;
- pregnancy;
- lactation period;
- children's age up to 3 years;
- tachyarrhythmia;
- myocarditis;
- heart defects;
- decompensated diabetes;
- thyrotoxicosis;
- glaucoma;
- liver or kidney failure;
- peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum in the acute stage.
Carefully apply the Knush in patients with diabetes mellitus, arterial hypertension, gastric ulcer, and duodenal ulcer in remission.
Drug interactions
Beta2 adrenomimetics, theophylline, and others. Xanthines increase the likelihood of developing tachyarrhythmias.
MAO inhibitors and tricyclic antidepressants enhance the effect of salbutamol on the CVS.
Diuretics and GCS enhance the hypokalemic effect of salbutamol.
Simultaneous appointment with antitussive drugs, incl. containing codeine, makes it difficult to discharge liquefied sputum.
Bromhexine, which is part of the drug, promotes the penetration of antibiotics into the lung tissue.
Pregnancy and Lactation
The drug kashnol is contraindicated for use in pregnancy.
If necessary, treatment with Kashnol during lactation, breastfeeding should be discontinued.
Overdosage
No cases of overdose have been reported. Possible enhancement of the above side effects.
