Dosage and Administration

Externally, apply a thin layer on the affected skin once a day. The duration of the course of treatment is determined by its effectiveness as well as the tolerability of the patient, the presence and severity of side effects.

Adverse reactions

Burning, itching, tingling and tingling, paresthesia, folliculitis, acne-like rashes, skin atrophy, hypertrichosis, hypopigmentation, perioral dermatitis, allergic contact dermatitis, skin maceration, secondary infection, stretch marks, strep.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity, pregnancy and lactation, child age (up to 12 years).

Drug interactions

With the local use of the drug Momat-C, the presence of very small but measurable amounts of salicylates in the blood plasma was observed. According to published data on the interaction of salicylates with other substances after ingestion or application to the skin, it is possible to change the effect of the following medicinal compounds: tolbutamide (butamide), methotrexate, heparin, pyrazinamide, uric acid excretion aids, and preparations of indirect anticoagulants. Other corticosteroids and ammonium sulfate may affect salicylic acid content. These interactions should be borne in mind when prescribing Momat-C in conjunction with these compounds.

Special instructions

Appropriate precautions should be taken when applying ointment to large areas of the skin or intended long-term use (especially when used in pediatrics). Due to the fact that the ratio of skin surface and body weight in children is higher than in adults, children may show higher sensitivity to the action of GCS than adults, with the appearance of signs of suppression of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal system and the manifestation of Cushing's syndrome. Ointment is not recommended for use with occlusive dressings, including diapers and diapers. The drug is not intended for application to the face or in the groin and axilla areas. Ointment is not to be used in ophthalmology. Children should receive the minimum amount of corticosteroids necessary to achieve the effect. Long-term therapy with SCS may have an undesirable effect on the growth and development of children. In case of irritation, incl. excessive dryness of the skin and with the appearance of allergic reactions, you should stop using the drug Momat-S and prescribe the appropriate treatment. If concomitant skin infection develops, the necessary antifungal or antibacterial agent should be used. If a positive response to treatment is not achieved quickly, the use of the drug Momat-S should be interrupted until the infection is properly eliminated. It is necessary to assess the risk and the expected effect of the use of the drug Momat-C in case of the following diseases: diabetes mellitus, damage or inflammation of peripheral vessels, irritation or infection of the skin. GCS can cause a change in the appearance of the affected skin, making it difficult to make a correct diagnosis and leads to slower recovery.

Overdosage

Prolonged use of GCS for topical use in excess amounts can lead to suppression of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal system and secondary adrenal insufficiency. If suppression of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal system is observed, then the use of the ointment should be discontinued or the frequency of application should be reduced. In the case of salicylic acid toxicity, the use of Momat-C should be discontinued. To stimulate the output of salicylates in the urine should be injected fluids. As necessary, you can assign oral or IV the introduction of sodium bicarbonate and potassium salts.
