Clinical Pharmacology

Oflomelid® combined drug has antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, local anesthetic, regenerating effect. The active substances are ofloxacin, methyluracil and lidocaine.
Ofloxacin is a broad-spectrum antimicrobial agent from the group of fluoroquinolones. It has a bactericidal effect due to the blockade of DNA gyrase in bacterial cells. Active against gram-negative and gram-positive microorganisms.
Methyluracil stimulates tissue repair. It has anabolic activity.
Accelerates the processes of cellular regeneration in wounds, accelerating the growth and granulation maturation of the tissue and epithelialization.
Lidocaine has a local anesthetic effect due to blockade of Na + channels, which prevents the generation of impulses in the terminations of sensitive neurons and conduction of impulses along the nerve fibers. When applied externally dilates blood vessels, has no local irritating action.
The basis of the ointment is a mixture of polyethylene oxides with a molecular weight of 400 and 1500, which provides a dehydrating effect on the tissue 20 times superior to the strength of the 10% solution of sodium chloride.

Indications

An antimicrobial agent is prescribed for purulent, infected wound lesions of various etiologies and localization in the purulent-necrotic (first) phase of the wound process, including with concomitant pain syndrome:

  • trophic ulcers;
  • bedsores;
  • infected burns 2-4 degrees;
  • wounds after prompt opening of phlegmon and abscesses;

Oflomelide®

Dosage and Administration

Oflomelide applied externally, 1 time per day for 1-2 weeks. The maximum daily dose should not exceed 100 g of ointment. The duration of treatment depends on the dynamics of cleansing wounds from purulent exudate and the timing of relief of the inflammatory process.

After the standard treatment of wounds and burns, the ointment is applied directly to the wound surface with a thin layer (after that a sterile gauze bandage is applied) or a gauze bandage with subsequent application to the lesion.

Tampons soaked in ointment, loosely fill the cavity of purulent wounds after their surgical treatment, and gauze turunda with ointment is introduced into the fistulous passages.

In the treatment of infected burns, the drug is used daily or 2-3 times a week, depending on the amount of purulent discharge.

Adverse reactions

Maybe: allergic reactions.
