Clinical Pharmacology

The combined drug has antipyretic, anti-inflammatory, anti-edema, analgesic and anti-allergic effect.

Paracetamol.

Analgesic antipyretic. It has analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory effect.

Pheniramine.

Histamine H1 receptor blocker. It has antiallergic effect, reduces the phenomenon of exudation.

Phenylephrine.

Sympathomimetic, has predominantly alpha-adrenergic activity without a pronounced stimulating effect on the central nervous system in therapeutic doses. It has a vasoconstrictor effect on peripheral vessels. Helps to reduce swelling of the nasal mucosa.

Vitamin C.

Increases resistance to infection.

Indications

Symptomatic treatment of infectious - inflammatory diseases (ARVI, including flu), accompanied by high fever, chills, body aches, headache and muscle pain, runny nose, nasal congestion, sneezing.

Dosage and Administration

For oral use. Single dose - 1 bag. A repeated dose, if necessary, is taken every 4 hours, but not more than 3 times within 24 hours. The drug can be taken at any time of the day, but the optimal effect develops when taken before bedtime, at night.

Dissolve the contents of 1 sachet in 1 cup of boiled water. Eat hot, you can add sugar to taste.

If there is no reduction in symptoms for 3 days after starting the drug, the patient should consult a doctor.

Adverse reactions

From the nervous system. There may be a decrease in the rate of psychomotor reactions, feeling of tiredness, dizziness, sleep disturbance.

From the digestive system. Dry mouth, nausea and vomiting, epigastric pain are possible; with long-term administration in high doses, a manifestation of the hepatotoxic effect is possible.

From the urinary system. Urinary retention With prolonged use in high doses - nephrotoxic effect.

Since the cardiovascular system. Perhaps a feeling of heartbeat.

From the hemopoietic system. Rarely - thrombocytopenia, leukopenia, agranulocytosis.

Allergic reactions. Possible skin rash, itching.

Contraindications

  • Pregnancy.
  • Breastfeeding period.

  • Hypersensitivity to the drug.

Drug interactions

It is recommended to refrain from taking the drug when taking inhibitors of MAO, sedatives, ethanol.

The risk of hepatotoxic action of paracetamol is increased with the simultaneous use of barbiturates, phenytoin, carbamazepine, rifampicin, zidovudine and other inducers of microsomal liver enzymes.

Antidepressants, anti-parkinsonian and antipsychotic drugs, phenothiazine derivatives increase the risk of urinary retention, dry mouth, and constipation.

GCS increases the risk of increasing intraocular pressure.

Paracetamol reduces the effectiveness of uricosuric drugs and increases the effectiveness of indirect anticoagulants. Tricyclic antidepressants enhance the sympathomimetic effect.

The simultaneous use of halothane increases the risk of ventricular arrhythmias.

Phenylephrine reduces the hypotensive effect of guanethidine, which in turn enhances the alpha-adrenomimetic effect of phenylephrine.

Ethanol may enhance the sedative effect of pheniramine.

Pregnancy and Lactation

The drug is contraindicated for use during pregnancy and during breastfeeding.

Impact on the ability to drive motor vehicles
When taking the drug is not recommended to drive a car or other mechanisms that require concentration and high-speed psychomotor reactions.
     
Caution should be used for arterial hypertension, diabetes mellitus, angle-closure glaucoma, severe liver or kidney diseases, lung diseases (including bronchial asthma), difficulty urinating with prostate adenoma, blood diseases, deficiency of the enzyme glucose 6-phosphate dehydrogenase.

If, despite taking the drug, fever persists or repeated fever occurs, the patient should consult a doctor.

In order to avoid toxic damage to the liver when using the drug, patients should avoid drinking alcohol. It should not be prescribed to patients with alcoholism.

It is not recommended to use the drug during therapy with MAO inhibitors.

Do not use the drug in damaged bags.

Overdosage

Symptoms: nausea and vomiting, pain in the epigastric region, in severe cases, liver failure, encephalopathy and a coma develop.

Treatment: gastric lavage, oral - activated charcoal, conducting symptomatic therapy.
