Clinical Pharmacology
Antiseptic for use in ophthalmology, a derivative of biguanides. Pycloxidine is active against many Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, chlamydia, some viruses and fungi.
Indications
Infectious conjunctivitis and keratoconjunctivitis, including infection caused by chlamydia.
Composition
Eye drops in the form of a clear, colorless or slightly yellowish solution.
1 ml
picloxidine dihydrochloride * - 0.5 mg, which corresponds to the content of picloxidin0.434 mg
* 5% excess of picloxidine dihydrochloride is allowed during the manufacture of the drug
Excipients: dextrose (glucose) anhydrous - 50 mg, polysorbate 80 - 0.25 mg, purified water - up to 1 ml.

Dosage and Administration
Picloxydine used topically 2-6 times / day. The duration of treatment is not more than 10 days.
Adverse reactions
Possible: local irritation, hypersensitivity reactions.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to picloxidin.
Special instructions
If along with picloxidin other drugs are used in eye drops, it is necessary that the interval between instillation is at least 15 minutes.
