Clinical Pharmacology
Rowatinex promotes disintegration and removal of kidney stones and urinary tract stones. Terpenes, such as Borneol, undergo metabolic changes and are excreted in the urine, mainly in the form of glucuronides, which increases the solubility of calcium salts (the main components of kidney stones and urinary tract stones). In a number of animal experiments, the inhibitory effect of Rowatinex on the formation of kidney stones and urinary tract stones was established.
Rowatinex has an antispasmodic effect, promotes the passage of stones through the urinary tract, reduces pain during renal and ureteral colic, increases renal blood flow, improving their function and increasing diuresis. It has anti-inflammatory action, antimicrobial action (in relation to a number of "gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms), increases the content of protective colloids in the urine and increases the content of glucuronic acid in the urine.
