Clinical Pharmacology
Tonsilotren is a homeopathic remedy used in acute and chronic tonsillitis. The drug has anti-inflammatory effect, stimulates regeneration processes, helps to reduce hypertrophied tonsils. Stimulates immunity.
Indications
- Acute angina (catarrhal, lacunar, follicular);
- chronic tonsillitis;
- to accelerate the healing of the pharyngeal mucosa after the removal of the tonsils (in complex therapy).
Composition
1 tablet contains:
Active substances: Atropinum sulfuricum D5 12.5 mg, Hepar sulfuris D3 10 mg, Kalium bichromicum D4 50 mg, Silicea D2 5 mg, Mercurius bijodatus D8 25 mg;
Excipients: lactose monohydrate; sucrose; magnesium stearate.

Dosage and Administration
Tonsilotren take inside, slowly dissolving, half an hour before or half an hour after eating. Children 3–5 years old should dissolve the tablet in a small amount of liquid or give it in crushed form, under the tongue.
In case of acute course of the disease, adults and children over 12 years old - 1 tablet every hour for 1-2 days (no more than 12 times a day) until improvement occurs, then 1-2 pills 3 times a day until complete recovery; Children 3–12 years of age - 1 tablet every 2 hours for 1–2 days (no more than 8 times a day) until improvement occurs, then 1 tablet 3 times a day until complete recovery.
In chronic tonsillitis in adults and children after 12 years, 1-2 pills 3 times a day; Children 3–12 years old - 1 tablet 3 times a day. The duration of treatment is 6–8 weeks.
It is recommended to conduct repeated courses of treatment (several times a year) after consulting a doctor.
Adverse reactions
Perhaps increased salivation (it is necessary to reduce the dose or stop taking the drug). In rare cases - allergic skin reactions (itching, rash).
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to chromium or other components of Tonsilotren.
It is not recommended to use the drug in children under 3 years of age due to insufficient clinical data.
