Clinical Pharmacology
pharmachologic effect Has an antimicrobial effect, has mucolytic properties. It contributes to an increase in the non-specific resistance of the organism.
Indications
As part of complex therapy: acute and chronic infections of the respiratory tract, ear, nose and throat (including sinusitis, rhinopharyngitis, tonsillitis, bronchitis).
Composition
1 g of the solution for oral administration contains:
Active substances: liquid extract of the roots of pelargonium sidovidnoy (1: 9-11) * 800 mg.
* - extractant: ethanol 12% by volume.
Excipients: glycerol 85%.

Dosage and Administration
The drug should be taken 30 minutes before a meal, with a small amount of liquid.
- Children from 1 year to 6 years: 5-10 drops 3 times / day.
- Children aged 6 to 12 years: 10-20 drops 3 times / day.
- Adults and children over 12 years: 20-30 drops 3 times / day.
The average duration of treatment is 10 days. After the disappearance of symptoms of the disease, it is recommended to continue treatment for several days to prevent relapse.
If it is necessary to continue treatment, especially with a chronic course of the disease or with frequent relapses, adults and children over 12 years of age are advised to take 10-20 drops 3 times / day after consulting a doctor.
Adverse reactions
The drug is characterized by good tolerability.
From the digestive system: rarely - nausea, vomiting, epigastric pain, diarrhea.
Other: allergic reactions are possible.
WITH caution the drug should be used for alcoholism, craniocerebral trauma, brain diseases, abnormal liver and kidney function (no experience in use), in children over 1 year of age.
Drug interactions
With the simultaneous use of Umckalor with anticoagulants (coumarin derivatives), their anticoagulant action may be enhanced and bleeding (nosebleed, gingival bleeding) may occur.
Pregnancy and Lactation
Due to the lack of sufficient research data to date, the drug is not recommended for use during pregnancy and during breastfeeding.
Special instructions
During storage, liquid plant extracts tend to become turbid, however, this does not affect their pharmacological efficacy. Since Umckalor is a natural product, slight changes in the color and taste of the drug are possible.
In connection with the content of ethanol (12% / vol.), The preparation should take into account that the maximum single dose for children over 12 years old and adults contains 0.125 g of absolute ethyl alcohol, the maximum daily dose for children over 12 years old and adults contains 0.375 g of absolute ethyl alcohol. A single dose for children under 12 years of age contains less than 0.1 g of absolute ethanol.
Influence on ability to drive motor transport and control mechanisms
When using the drug, care should be taken when engaging in potentially hazardous activities that require increased concentration of attention and speed of psychomotor reactions (including driving, working with moving mechanisms).
