Clinical Pharmacology
Validol has a moderate reflex vasodilator effect, has a sedative effect (has a calming effect on the central nervous system).
The action of the drug is largely due to reflex reactions associated with the stimulation of sensitive nerve endings. Validol in its action is close to menthol. Irritation of mucosal receptors is accompanied by stimulation of the formation and release of enkephalins, endorphins, dinorphins and peptides, which play an important role in the regulation of pain, vascular permeability and other processes. Under the influence of irritants, a number of other endogenous physiologically active compounds are released (histamine, kinins, etc.). With sublingual use, the effect of the drug develops after 5 minutes.
Indications
- angina attacks (as part of combination therapy);
- neuro-circulatory dystonia of cardiac type, functional cardialgia;
- neurosis;
- hysteria, hysterical state;
- as antiemetic at sea and air diseases.

1 tablet contains 0.06 g of menthol solution in menthyl ester of isovalerianic acid

Dosage and Administration
1 tab. 2-4 times a day.
A single dose for adults is 1-2 pills. Daily - 2-4 capsules. If necessary, the daily dose may be increased.
Adverse reactions
When taking validol in isolated cases, mild tearing, lacrimation, dizziness are possible; these phenomena usually quickly pass on their own.
Contraindications
Increased individual sensitivity to the components of the drug.
