Clinical Pharmacology
Combined drug. Phenobarbital has sedative and mild hypnotic effects. It helps reduce CNS arousal and facilitates the onset of natural sleep. Ethyl bromizovalerianat also has a sedative and antispasmodic effect. Peppermint oil has a reflex vasodilator and spasmolytic activity.
Indications
Valoserdine is prescribed as a sedative and vasodilator for disorders of the cardiovascular system, for neurosis-like conditions accompanied by increased irritability, disturbed sleep, tachycardia, a state of agitation with pronounced vegetative manifestations, and as an antispasmodic for spasm of the intestine.

Ethyl alcohol 96% - 52.0 g

Dosage and Administration
The dosage is set individually. Adults are usually prescribed 15-30 drops 3 times daily before meals.
With tachycardia, a single dose may increase to 40-50 drops.
Children are prescribed but 3-15 drops per day, depending on the age and clinical picture of the disease.
The duration of the drug is set individually by a doctor.
Adverse reactions
Valoserdine is generally well tolerated even with prolonged use. In some cases, drowsiness and slight dizziness may occur during the daytime. With prolonged use of large doses may develop chronic bromine poisoning, manifestations of which are: depressive mood, apathy, rhinitis, conjunctivitis, hemorrhagic diathesis, impaired coordination of movements.
If any side effects (unusual) that are not reflected in the instructions, must be reported to your doctor.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug: pronounced dysfunction of the kidneys and / or liver.
Drug interactions
With the simultaneous use of Valoserdin and central nervous system depressants, mutual enhancement of effects is possible. The action, which is part of Valoserdine, phenobarbital is enhanced by preparations containing valproic acid, and may weaken the effect of coumarin derivatives, glucocorticosteroids, griseofulvin, oral contraceptives. Valoserdine may increase the toxicity of methotrexate.
Special instructions
Prescription of the drug during pregnancy is possible only under strict indications. If necessary, the appointment of the drug during lactation should decide on the termination of breastfeeding.
The drug contains 55% by volume of ethanol and phenobarbital; therefore, patients receiving Valoserdin are not recommended to engage in activities associated with increased attention and requiring speed of mental and motor responses.
With prolonged use of the drug may form of drug dependence; possible accumulation of bromine in the body and developed poisoning them.
Overdosage
Symptoms. In light and moderate poisoning, drowsiness, dizziness, psychomotor disturbances are observed. In severe cases, coma, lower blood pressure, respiratory failure, tachycardia, vascular collapse, reduced peripheral reflexes.
Treatment: wash the stomach, take activated charcoal and call a doctor.
