Clinical Pharmacology

Venolayf has an anticoagulant, angioprotective, anti-inflammatory, venotonic effect.

Venolife gel is a combined preparation for external use, the pharmacological properties of which are due to the action of its constituent substances.

Heparin, an anticoagulant of direct action, a natural anticoagulant factor of the body, has an anti-inflammatory effect, promotes the regeneration of connective tissue by inhibiting the activity of hyaluronidase; interferes with thrombosis, activates blood fibrinolytic properties; improves local blood flow.

Dexpanthenol - Provitamin B₅ - in the skin turns into Pantothenic acid, which is part of coenzyme A, which plays an important role in the processes of acetylation and oxidation; improving metabolism, dexpanthenol promotes the regeneration of damaged tissues; improves heparin absorption.

Troxerutin is an angioprotective agent; possesses P-vitamin activity, in particular, reduces vascular tissue permeability and capillary fragility, helps normalize microcirculation and trophism of tissues, reduces congestion in veins and paravenous tissues, has anti-edema and anti-inflammatory effects.

In addition, due to the presence of the preservative-antiseptic phenylethyl alcohol, the drug has a bactericidal and fungicidal effect, helping to prevent infection of the wound surface. The composition of the gel base provides the drug with moderate hyperosmolar properties.

Indications

Edema-pain syndrome and microcirculatory and trophic disorders caused by venous insufficiency of the lower extremities (varicose veins, acute and chronic thrombophlebitis, post-thrombophlebitic syndrome, chronic lymphostasis);
soft tissue injuries (hematomas, dislocations, stretches);
to accelerate granulation and epithelization of trophic ulcers in the regeneration phase (in the absence of pronounced exudation).

Composition

100 g of gel contains:

Active substances: Troxerutin 2g; dexpanthenol 5 g; sodium heparin 0.25 g (30,000 IU);

Excipients: phenylethyl alcohol, propylene glycol, carbomer 940 or 980, trometamol, purified water.

Dosage and Administration

Locally. Apply with a thin layer to the affected area and around it 2-3 times a day, evenly spreading over the skin surface with light rubbing movements until completely absorbed. The course of treatment is 2-3 weeks. The need for further treatment is determined by the attending physician, based on the severity of the pathological process and the results of clinical tests. With the recurrence of the disease, the treatment can be carried out 2-3 times a year.

In case of trophic ulcers with weak exudation, before using the preparation, the wound surface is cleaned of exudate and necrotic tissues, if necessary, washed with 3% hydrogen peroxide, Furacilin 1: 5000 or chlorhexidine digluconate 0.05% and dried. The gel is applied in a uniform thin layer so that the entire affected surface is covered with the preparation, and a sterile gauze bandage is applied. Bandages are changed 1 time per day. With an open method of treatment, the drug is applied 1-2 times a day. The duration of treatment is determined by the dynamics of epithelialization.
