Clinical Pharmacology
Infusion of coltsfoot leaves has an expectorant, weak anti-inflammatory effect. Mucus, organic acids and saponins contribute to the dilution of viscous discharge in the upper respiratory tract, improve sputum discharge. Due to the high mucus content, mother-and-stepmother preparations have a coating effect on the mucous membranes of the mouth, throat and larynx, protecting them from irritation.
Indications

Dosage and Administration
About 10 g (2 tablespoons) of the coltsfoot of the leaves is placed in an enameled bowl, 200 ml (1 cup) of boiling water is poured, covered with a lid and heated in a boiling water bath for 15 minutes, cooled at room temperature for 45 minutes, filter, the remaining raw material is pressed. The volume of the resulting infusion is brought to 200 ml with boiled water.
Is ingested in the form of heat 2-3 tablespoons 2-3 times a day for 1 hour before meals.
Before use, the infusion is recommended to shake.
