Clinical Pharmacology
Galstena is a complex homeopathic remedy. Galstena has a hepatoprotective effect, manifested in reducing the severity of cytolysis syndrome and intrahepatic cholestasis, normalizes the motor and evacuation function of the biliary tract, eliminates the symptoms of dyspepsia. Galstena has a choleretic, antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory effect, prevents the formation of gallbladder stones.
Indications
Galstena is recommended as part of complex therapy for:
- acute and chronic liver diseases (acute and chronic hepatitis, hepatosis);
- diseases of the gallbladder (chronic cholecystitis, cholelithiasis);
- postcholecystectomy syndrome;
- chronic pancreatitis.
Composition
100 ml contains
Carduus D1 - 2 ml,
Taraxacum D6 - 10 ml,
Chelidonium D6 - 10 ml,
Natrium sulfuricum D12 - 10 ml,
Phosphorus D12 - 10 ml,
Other Ingredients: ethanol 43% by weight.

Dosage and Administration
In acute and chronic hepatitis, hepatosis, chronic pancreatitis in children under 1 year designate 1 drop,children 1-12 years old - 5 drops,adults and teenagersam - 10 drops. The multiplicity of reception - 3 times / day. The duration of treatment is at least 3 months. If necessary, the treatment can be repeated after 1 month.
In chronic cholecystitis, cholelithiasis, postcholecystectomy syndrome, children under 12 years old prescribe 5 drops,adults and teens - 10 drops. The multiplicity of reception - 3 times / day. Duration of treatment - 3 months. If necessary, the treatment can be repeated after 1 month.
In acute cases the drug is prescribed every 0.5-1 hours, but not more than 8 times / day. After improving the condition, the drug is prescribed 3 times / day.
The drug is taken 30 minutes before or 1 hour after a meal (children under 1 year old - before or 1 hour after feeding). Drops are taken pure or diluted in 1 tablespoon of water. Children up to 1 year old drops diluted in 1 teaspoon of water or breast milk.
Adverse reactions
Seldom: increased salivation.

Pregnancy and Lactation
The question of the use of the drug Galstena during pregnancy and lactation (breastfeeding) is decided individually depending on the clinical situation.
Special instructions
Since the drug Galstena in the form of drops for ingestion contains natural plant components, during storage there may be a slight turbidity of the solution or a weakening of the smell and taste, which does not reduce the effectiveness of the drug.
