Pharmacological properties:
Combined drug. Thyme herb extract has an expectorant effect, increases the number of secretory secretions of the mucous membranes of the upper respiratory tract, helps to dilute sputum and accelerate its evacuation. Potassium bromide reduces the excitability of the central nervous system.
Indications
As an expectorant in the treatment of acute respiratory diseases.
Tracheitis, bronchitis, as well as whooping cough.
Composition
Active substances:
- Thyme extract liquid - 12.0 g
- Potassium bromide - 1.0 g
Excipients:
- Sucrose solution 64% (sugar syrup) - 82.0 g
- Ethanol (ethyl alcohol) 95% - 4.06 g
- Purified water - 0.94 g

Dosage and Administration
For oral use. If the attending physician has not prescribed a different dosage, then the drug is taken:
- adults: 3-4 teaspoons 3-4 times a day;
- adolescents: 3-4 tsp daily; 3-4 tsp;
- children from 1 to 5 years: 2-3 times a day, 1 teaspoon.
Adverse reactions
Possible: allergic reactions, nausea (for syrup and drops for oral administration).
Possible: allergic reactions (for syrup 9%).
Contraindications
It is not recommended to prescribe the drug to pregnant women and patients with decompensation of cardiac activity, as well as with increased individual sensitivity to the drug, the period of lactation.
Special instructions
The product contains 4% by volume of alcohol. The drug contains the extract from the plant, which may cause a slight turbidity of the syrup or sediment in the vial, but this does not affect the effectiveness of the drug.
Instructions for diabetics:
1 teaspoon of sugar-free syrup contains 1.85 g of sorbitol, which is 0.15 XE.
