Clinical Pharmacology

Ointment "LEVOSIN" has antimicrobial, local anesthetic, anti-inflammatory and stimulating regeneration effect. Shows activity in relation to staphylococcus and gram-negative flora - intestinal sticks, proteus and sticks of blue-green pus. The ointment easily penetrates into the tissues, transporting chloramphenicol and sulfadimethoxin associated with polyethylene glycol. Due to the high dehydration activity, “Levocin” in a short time (2-3 days) usually provides for the elimination of perifocal edema and cleansing the wound from purulent-necrotic contents. Methyluracil, which is part of the drug, accelerates wound healing by stimulating cellular defense factors. Trimekain is a local anesthetic agent, it acts more strongly and longer than Novocaine, has low toxicity and does not irritate. "Levosin" does not possess cumulative and irritant properties.

Indications

Infected skin wounds of various etiologies (burns, difficult-to-heal ulcers).

Dosage and Administration

Ointment “Levosin” is impregnated with sterile gauze napkins (tampons), with which the wound is loosely filled after its standard surgical treatment.
