Clinical Pharmacology

Chemopsin is a proteolytic combination agent of protein nature. Prepared from the pancreas of cattle. With local and external use splits necrotic tissue and fibrinous formations; thins viscous secretions, exudate, blood clots. Chemopsin hydrolyzes proteins and peptones to form low molecular weight peptides, cleaves bonds formed by aromatic amino acid residues (tyrosine, troptophan, phenylalanine, methionine).

The combination of two proteolytic enzymes increases the effectiveness of therapy due to synergistic therapeutic effects.

The components of Chemopsin cleave various peptide bonds in a protein molecule:

Trypsin hydrolyzes peptide bonds containing arginine and lysine residues;

Chymotrypsin splits peptide bonds with residues of aromatic amino acids - Tyrosine and Tryptophan.

Indications

Suppurative bronchopulmonary diseases:

bronchiectasis;
lung abscess;
atelectasis;
exudative pleurisy (to dilute the thick viscous sputum and sanitize the respiratory tract).

Diseases of ENT organs:

purulent sinusitis;
purulent otitis media (acute, subacute, chronic);
Eustachitis with viscous exudate;
post-tracheostomy to facilitate the removal of a thick, viscous exudate;
chronic rhinitis.

In ophthalmology:

corneal diseases (ulcer, herpetic keratitis);
burns of the mucous membrane of the eye;
obstruction of lacrimal ducts;
flaccid healing of eyelid skin wounds.

Burns, pressure sores, trophic ulcers, purulent wounds (cleaning of necrotic purulent masses, accelerating healing).

Dosage and Administration

Set individually depending on the severity of the disease.

Adults, depending on the activity and severity of the disease, are prescribed in a dose of from 3 to 10 tab. 3 times / day In the first 3 days of taking the drug, the recommended dose is 3 tab. 3 times / day

With an average disease activity, the drug is prescribed in a dose of 5-7 tab. 3 times / day for 2 weeks. In the future, the dose should be reduced to 3-5 tab. 3 times / day Course - 2 weeks.

With high disease activity, the drug is prescribed in a dose of 7-10 tab. 3 times / day for 2-3 weeks. In the future, the dose should be reduced to 5 tab. 3 times / day Course - 2-3 months.

For chronic long-lasting diseases, Wobenzym can be used for indications of courses from 3 to 6 months or more.

In order to increase the effectiveness of antibiotics and prevent dysbacteriosis, Wobenzym should be used throughout the entire course of antibiotic therapy at a dose of 5 tab. 3 times / day After stopping the course of antibiotic therapy to restore the intestinal microflora of Wobenzym, 3 tab. 3 times / day for 2 weeks.

During radiotherapy and chemotherapy, Wobenzym should be used in a dose of 5 tab. 3 times / day to complete the course of radiation and chemotherapy in order to prevent infectious complications, improve the tolerance of basic therapy and improve the quality of life.

With the preventive purpose of Wobenzym prescribe 3 tab. 3 times / day for 1.5 months with a repetition of the course 2-3 times a year.

Children aged 5-12 years prescribed in a daily dose at the rate of 1 tab. on 6 kg of body weight. Children older than 12 years, the drug is prescribed according to the scheme intended for adults. The duration of treatment is determined individually.

The drug should be taken at least 30 minutes before a meal, without chewing, drinking water (200 ml).

Adverse reactions

Wobenzym is generally well tolerated by patients. In most cases, side effects, withdrawal syndrome, addiction was not observed even with prolonged use in high doses.

In some cases: minor changes in the consistency and smell of feces, urticaria (held at dose reduction or discontinuation of the drug).

The patient should be warned that if other adverse reactions occur, it is recommended to stop taking the drug and consult a doctor.

Contraindications

diseases associated with an increased likelihood of bleeding (including hemophilia, thrombocytopenia);
hemodialysis;
children up to 5 years;

Drug interactions

While taking Wobenzym with other drugs, incompatibility cases are unknown.

Pregnancy and Lactation

With caution and under the supervision of a physician should appoint Wobenzym during pregnancy and lactation.

Special instructions

It should be borne in mind that at the beginning of treatment with the drug Wobenzym, exacerbation of the symptoms of the disease is possible. In such cases, it is recommended to temporarily reduce the dose, treatment should not be interrupted.

In infectious and inflammatory diseases, Wobenzym does not replace treatment with antibiotics, but increases their effectiveness.

Wobenzym is not a dope.

Influence on ability to drive motor transport and control mechanisms

The drug does not adversely affect the ability to drive a car and perform work that requires high-speed psychomotor reactions.

Overdosage
