Clinical Pharmacology
Methylergobrevin has a uterotonic effect. Increases the tone of the myometrium, helps to stop uterine bleeding.
Indications
The second stage of labor, atonic uterine bleeding, subinvolution of the uterus, lochyometer.

Dosage and Administration
Methylergobrevin administered IV, IM, SubQ. With the active management of the second stage of labor, 0.1–0.2 mg (0.5–1 ml) is introduced into / after the appearance of the anterior part of the fetal shoulder (1 ml is recommended under conditions of general anesthesia). With atonic uterine bleeding - 0.2 mg (1 ml) i / m or 0.1-0.2 mg (0.5-1 ml i / v; if necessary, repeat injections with an interval of 2 hours. Uterine Subinvolution Therapy, lohiiometry - 0.1-0.2 mg (0.5-1 ml) s / c or IM up to 3 times a day.At a caesarean section, it is administered after the fetus is extracted into / in, at 0.05-0.1 mg or IM at 0.2 mg For abortions (after dilation of the cervical canal) IV - 0.1-0.2 mg, with spontaneous abortions IV - 0.05-0.1 mg.
Adverse reactions
Abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, increased sweating, dizziness, headache, increased blood pressure, bradycardia or tachycardia, peripheral vasospasm, decreased milk secretion, allergic reactions (skin rash), anaphylactic shock.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity, severe hypertension, vascular occlusive disease, sepsis, pregnancy, the first stage of labor.
Special instructions
In the treatment and prevention of atonic uterine bleeding effective combination of methylergobrevin with oxytocin. Methyl erbobrevin may enhance the vasoconstrictor vasopressor effects of sympathomimetics and ergotamine. The use of the drug for breastfeeding is not recommended.
