Clinical Pharmacology
Antiseptic solution "Doctor Iodine" is an antiseptic preparation, its antimicrobial action is based on iodine damage to the cell wall of pathogenic microorganisms. Released from the complex with polyvinylpyrrolidone upon contact with biological material, iodine forms the cells of bacteria iodamines with proteins, coagulates them and causes the death of microorganisms. Antiseptic solution "Doctor Iodine" - has antimicrobial activity against gram-positive (including tuberculosis microbacteria) and gram-negative bacteria, yeast-like fungi of the genus Candida, Trichophyton, and viruses (Coxs, ECHO, polio, hepatitis A, B, C, etc. influenza, including H5N1, H1N1, herpes, adenoviruses, etc.). The antiseptic solution "Doctor Iodine" has a more prolonged action compared to conventional alcohol solutions of iodine.
Indications
The solution is used externally:
- for antiseptic skin treatment.
- for the treatment of the hands of surgeons and other persons participating in surgical interventions in medical institutions (including dental organizations, maternity hospitals, etc.).
- for treating the skin before injections, taking blood, puncture, biopsy, transfusion, infusion and other manipulations associated with the violation of the integrity of the skin.
- for treating the skin of the surgical field before surgery.
- with bacterial, fungal and viral infections of the skin.

Dosage and Administration
The solution is used externally as an antiseptic, irritant and distracting agent.
Adverse reactions
Iodism (non-infectious inflammation of the mucous membranes in places of iodine excretion with an overdose or idiosyncrasy of iodine preparations).
Contraindications
It is not recommended to apply to persons with individual hypersensitivity to iodine (iodism). Hypersensitivity; for oral administration - pulmonary tuberculosis, nephritis, furunculosis, acne, chronic pyoderma, hemorrhagic diathesis, urticaria; pregnancy, child age (up to 5 years).
Drug interactions
Pharmaceutically incompatible with essential oils, ammonia solutions, white sedimentary mercury (an explosive mixture is formed). Alkaline or acidic environment, the presence of fat, pus, blood weaken the antiseptic activity. Weakens hypothyroid and strumogenic effects of lithium preparations.
