Clinical Pharmacology
Travogen - antifungal, antibacterial.
Pharmacodynamics
Isoconazole is a synthetic imidazole derivative. It has a local antifungal and antibacterial effect. Fungistatically, with increasing concentration - fungicidal. Suppresses the synthesis of ergosterol and changes the composition of the membrane of the microbial cell. Active against dermatophytesTrichophyton spp., Microsporum spp., Epidermophyton spp., mold, yeast and yeast-like fungi (Candida spp., Pityrosporum orbiculare), andCorynebacterium minutissimum - causative agent of erythrasma and gram-positive bacteriaStaphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp.
Pharmacokinetics
When applied to the skin, systemic absorption is negligible.
Indications
Fungal lesions of the skin, incl. secondarily infected:
- mycoses of the feet and smooth skin, incl. with localization in the folds and the area of the external genital organs;
- microsporia, trichophytosis, rubrofitia;
- athlete's disease;
- candidiasis;
- multi-colored (scaly) versicolor;
- erythrasma
Composition
100 g of cream contains:
Active substance: isoconazole nitrate 1 g;
Excipients:polysorbate 60; sorbitan stearate; cetyl stearyl alcohol; liquid paraffin; white petrolatum; purified water.

Dosage and Administration
Topically Adults and children from 1 month old. Travogen is applied with a thin layer to the affected skin and lightly rubbed once a day. The course of treatment is usually 2-3 weeks, with the localization of mycoses in the folds - up to 4 weeks. A longer course of treatment is also possible. To prevent relapse, treatment should continue for 2 weeks after resolution of clinical manifestations.
Adverse reactions
Travogen is usually well tolerated, even when applied to sensitive skin. Rarely, irritation (burning sensation and itching, erythema) may develop, and skin allergic reactions are extremely rare.
Contraindications
Increased sensitivity to components of Travogen.
Pregnancy and Lactation
The use of Travogen during pregnancy is possible in cases where the potential benefit to the mother outweighs the risk to the fetus. It is not established whether isoconazole penetrates into breast milk, so the drug should not be applied to the breast glands before feeding. If necessary, use the drug to resolve the issue with the doctor about stopping breastfeeding.
Special instructions
The drug is intended for external use only.
When the first symptoms, indicating hypersensitivity or irritation, the drug should be canceled.
Avoid contact with eyes. In case of accidental contact with the drug in the eyes, rinse thoroughly with warm water.
If you experience side effects that are not listed in the instructions, you must inform them to your doctor.
If there is no effect during treatment, you should consult a doctor.
Pediatric use
Treatment by Travogen of children from 1 month to 2 years is carried out under the supervision of a physician.
