A drug Grippferon with loratadine created on the basis of recombinant human interferon alpha-2b and the second generation antihistamine substance - loratadine.
It is well known that in patients with allergic diseases, in particular with allergic rhinitis, there is an increased susceptibility to respiratory viral infections. Inflammatory changes in the mucous membrane of the respiratory tract of patients with allergic rhinitis contribute to the reduction of antiviral and antimicrobial protection and inhibition of local immunity. As a result, a favorable environment for the reproduction of respiratory viruses is created. Numerous clinical observations and laboratory studies indicate the association of respiratory infection with exacerbation of allergies.
The research center FIRN M pays great attention to this area and continues work on “creating combination drugs that provide both antiviral and antiallergic therapy or the combined use of traditional antiallergic components and interferon drugs” (P.Ya. Gaponyuk, 2008).
Significant long-term experience of effective use of Grippferon, nasal and spray drops for the prevention and treatment of influenza and ARVI in adults and children since birth, as well as the successful experience of using Allerhoferon-gel for the treatment of allergic rhinitis and conjunctivitis was taken into account when developing a new combination drug - nasal ointment Grippferon with loratadine.
Grippferon ointment with loratadine It has an immunomodulatory, antiviral and antihistamine effect, reduces capillary permeability and prevents the development of edema of the nasal mucosa.
Successful clinical trials of Grippferon with loratadine in the leading scientific and clinical centers of the Russian Federation allow us to recommend the drug for use in general medical practice.
Grippferon with loratadine is available as a nasal ointment and is intended for the prevention and treatment of influenza and acute respiratory viral infections as part of complex therapy in adults, including patients with allergic rhinitis.
