Clinical Pharmacology
Thymogen - an immunostimulating agent, dipeptide. It has a regulating effect on cellular, humoral immunity reactions and non-specific resistance of the organism. Stimulates regeneration processes in case of their oppression. Improves the course of cellular metabolism.
Enhances the expression of differentiation receptors on lymphocytes, normalizes the number of T-helper cells, cytotoxic T-lymphocytes and their ratio in patients with various immunodeficiency states.
Indications
Combined therapy of acute and chronic infectious and inflammatory diseases, accompanied by a decrease in cellular immunity. Prevention of infectious complications, depression of immunity, blood formation, regeneration processes in the post-traumatic and postoperative period, in the process of radiation therapy or chemotherapy, when using massive doses of antibiotics Prevention and complex therapy of viral and bacterial infections, acute and chronic respiratory diseases.

Dosage and Administration
Solution administered intramuscularly 1 time per day for adults 100 mcg (300 - 1000 mcg per course);
for children under 1 year old - 10 micrograms, from 1 year to 3 years old - 10-20 micrograms, from 4 to 6 years old - 20-30 micrograms, from 7 to 14 years old - 50 micrograms.
Duration of treatment is 3-10 days depending on the severity of immunity disorders. Repeated treatment is possible in 1-6 months.
Contraindications
Individual intolerance to the drug, pregnancy, breastfeeding.
Drug interactions
Increases the effectiveness of other types of therapy (cytostatics, radiation therapy, etc.); not recommended for use simultaneously with large doses of glucocorticosteroid drugs.
Special instructions
There is evidence of the effectiveness of using Timogen as an immunomodulator, restoring immunological reactivity, as part of complex therapy of viral hepatitis, tuberculosis, pseudotuberculosis, influenza and acute respiratory viral infections, papillomatosis, sepsis.
According to clinical studies, the use of Timogen in the acute period of the disease in the intestinal form of amebiasis, typhoid fever, acute dysentery, erysipelas, diphtheria, brucellosis, hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome improves the health of patients, contributes to a more rapid normalization of biochemical and immunological parameters. As a result of the use of the drug, the frequency of occurrence of a prolonged relapsing course of disease and the chronization of the process is reduced.
The use of Timogen in case of bronchopulmonary diseases of infectious-inflammatory and allergic etiology makes it possible to shorten the duration of the disease, restore the activity of the immune system and prevent or substantially reduce the likelihood of complications.
According to clinical studies, Timogen is successfully used as part of complex therapy of bacterial, viral and fungal infections of the skin (pyoderma, furunculosis, erysipelas, papillomatosis, herpes), as well as in the treatment of atopic dermatitis.
In the medical literature published reports of the use of Timogen as part of the complex treatment of acute pancreatitis, peritonitis, with severe mechanical injuries, prolonged squeezing syndrome, burns, in the treatment and rehabilitation of patients after large abdominal operations.
Not recommended simultaneous use of timogen with GCS in high doses.
